A project born from a little star
When we experienced the loss of our third child at 36 weeks, we were met with an overwhelming void. In the journey of perinatal grief, my partner and I felt a deep need to keep our baby’s presence in our daily lives through a meaningful object that allowed us to gather as a family and honor their existence. We created a candle holder specifically for them—an object that holds a real place in our home. When we light the candle, the flame becomes a symbol of the presence we continue to feel. This painful experience inspired us to offer others the chance to create their own special place for the ones they miss. A light that symbolizes presence and provides comfort to every family, regardless of the grief they must cross.
