Lumemora creates memorial candle holders designed to support those going through grief, offering a unique, luminous, and comforting space to remember a loved one.
More than just a candle holder, each object becomes a symbolic space: a place to reflect and keep the presence of the person who has left us close by.
A project born from a little star
The Lumemora project was born in the year following the greatest loss of our lives: our third baby, whose heart simply stopped beating at 36 weeks of pregnancy. My partner and I found ourselves facing an immense void and a deep sadness left by the departure of our little boy.
In the midst of perinatal grief, we felt a deep need to keep our baby's presence in our daily lives, through a meaningful object that would allow us to reflect as a family and allow him to exist.
We then created a candle holder especially for him, an object that belongs to him and occupies a very real place in our home. When we light his candle, the light becomes a symbol of his presence that we continue to feel and carry with us, even though he has left us.
It is from this painful experience, which deeply marked our lives, that the desire was born to offer others the possibility of also creating a special place for the person they miss. An object designed with gentleness and sensitivity, to allow those going through grief to keep the memory of the departed person alive and find a little light and comfort throughout this ordeal.
